Once again immersed in winter: Our snowshoe hike ended at the Brisenhaus in the Canton of Obwalden. Now we are ready for spring.
Now we get started; the shell construction of the housing development in Cologne begins. In the Cologne-Sülz district, we are building around 50 apartments for a mixed group of residents on behalf of Wohnungsgenossenschaft Köln-Sülz eG. Completion is scheduled for summer 2021.
Our peep-boxes on the Glasi Areal are part of the exhibition “Public Architecture – Future for Europe” at the Shusev State Museum of Architecture in Moscow. The exhibition is open from 31 January to 10 May 2020.
From 93 submitted projects, 16 were selected for nomination for the Architecture Award of the Canton of Zurich. Our Buchegg housing estate is one of them.
The Wohn- und Siedlungsgenossenschaft Zürich (wsgz) has held a competition for the construction of a replacement of the Kalchbühlstrasse housing estate in Wollishofen. 60 apartments with a good living quality are planned on this attractive site. Our proposal came second. We congratulate Darlington Meier Architekten on winning first prize!
On Friday, 15.11. we invited everyone to visit the completed WALO Building in District 5. We were very happy about the large number of guests! The apartments were occupied at the beginning of December.
On the site of Werk 1 of the Beiersdorf AG in Hamburg’s Eimsbüttel district, a lively, urban quarter with predominantly residential use and additional other uses is being developed. Our design was awarded 3rd prize in the urban planning and open space planning expert appraisal procedure.
Tagesschau on SRF from 4.10.2019: “Wood is popular again among architects and builder-owners” – The “Pi” timber tower will be one of the tallest timber buildings in the world. In Switzerland it takes 14th place among the tallest high-rises.
Wohnbaugenossenschaften Zürich (Housing Cooperatives Zurich), the regional association of non-profit housing developers, turns 100. This anniversary is celebrated with a four-month festival at the Zentrum Architektur Zürich. The exhibition and a varied programme of events will last until 31.1.2020. Our peep-boxes on the Glasi Areal in Bülach are also exhibited.
The charitable Burkwil Foundation has invited architectural offices to take part in a competition for a multigenerational housing project in the community of Meilen. Around 100 residential units for up to 180 people of different ages are to be built on a 19,000m² site. Our project was awarded 1st prize.
We are very pleased about the 1st prize at the competition for the timber high-rise “Pi” in Zug. V-ZUG Immobilien AG is planning a residential tower with around 200 apartments, most of which are inexpensive, to be completed by 2024.
